Delight in the Gulf

Seven girls at the beach, loving Jesus with their cameras in hand. If you had told me a few years ago, that some of my best friends would be “online friends”, I might have called you crazy. Yet here I am, with so many friends I’ve grown to love through Delight, and girls that are like sisters to me. Delight is a group of young ladies who strive to glorify God with their talents. We encourage each other, lift up prayer requests, and sometimes…get to meet in “real life”! ๐Ÿ™‚ Last week I was blessed with time spent with six “Delight girls” in Florida! We took photos on the beach, shared stories over dinner & frozen yogurt, and talked about our hopes & dreams early in the morning. So much joy in that short time we had together, and so many memories made. I’m so delighted to share today some photos from our mini retreat!

Kristi is basically one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet! She wants to show people how loved they are, and how much God loves them! Her creativity is so inspiring, and her photos are amazing!!! Kristi is beautiful inside & out, and it was so special to finally be able to “really” talk with her!

Moriah is amazing. Seriously. Ever since I emailed her over a year ago, after finding her on Instagram, we have been friends, and now Moriah is like a big sister to me. She is always encouraging me to be a better photographer & to love more. It was such a gift to finally be able to meet her after only talking to each on social media for so long!

Sweet Anna has been there for me & all my photography questions for about two years now! She is so wise, and always there to pray for me! Anna is talented in so many ways, and always gives glory to God. It was so amazing to actually see her in-person, and to hear about her hopes & dreams!

She’s also Queen of the Flower Crowns. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Beautiful Grace. Her joy shines with her laugh, and she is so elegant. She is brave & gorgeous, an amazing photographer, and reflects the love of Jesus! Grace has such a sweet spirit and is a joy to be around! I had such a great time getting to know her last week!

Makaela is ever so lovely. She is so strong and kind! She is a fabulous photographer, and so creative! Makaela is a beautiful example of someone who trusts God and desires to know Him more! I’m so glad I was able to meet her!!

Taylor is one of those people who makes you smile whenever they’re around. She is so sweet and her wisdom is beyond her years. She is so beautiful & such a talented photographer! I was so excited to finally meet Taylor & get to know her even more! ๐Ÿ™‚

So, yes. These were some of the greatest moments of my year so far, and this was definitely the best spring break EVER!!! I am so thankful for Delight and how I have grown to love Community > Competition while praising Jesus together!

When the World Has Failed to Satisfy

“If you don’t stand firm in your faith, you won’t stand at all.” {Isaiah 7:9b}

When we aren’t standing firm our faith, our life can be perfect yet feel like it’s falling apart.

So maybe you have felt empty at some point in your life. You might be a fan of certain movies, and have watched every movie by that studio. You probably smiled throughout the movie, but realized when you got home that it still didn’t bring you joy. Maybe you read thousands of books, trying to fill this longing for something more-this gaping hole in your heart.

We fill our minds with stories and even sinful things trying to satisfy this hunger in our soul. We can watch all the Christian movies in the world. We can read every inspirational story. We can raise our hands in worship to look holy, and go to every conference. But the thing is? We can’t be satisfied by this world. These things can numb us, and for a moment we forget how hungry our souls are for God…but deep inside we know, Christ alone satisfies.

There is a hole in our hearts that only God can fill. Jesus is the only One who can satisfy our souls’ desire. Even reading a best-selling Christian inspirational book can’t satisfy us; only God’s Word can. Unless we are pursuing Christ in His Word, we will constantly feel empty.

A life apart from God is never a full life. Until we seek God and stand firm in our faith, we can feel like we’re wandering and feel distant from God. Walk with God and let Him lead you.

Come to Jesus. Let Him satisfy your soul again. Stop chasing after worthless things, and grow in your faith by digging in God’s Word. He will radically change your life; just come to Him.

One Person, One Soul, One Oppurtunity

You know that young mom you stand beside every day as you each wait to pick up your children from day care? Or that man who always orders lunch at the same time as you? Maybe they’re that student who sits behind you in home room.
Whatever the case, think about that person; that one person who always seems to find their way into your life, yet you may not even know their name.
Maybe you’re like me, and want to make a difference in the lives of people everywhere. Dreams of a revival in our nation like Billy Graham saw, or leading a whole village in Africa to Christ.
What if, for a moment, we slowed down and saw the needs around us? What if we saw that one soul, in a sea of people, who God wants us to minister to, yet we’ve been so busy dreaming and thinking about the future we didn’t see them?
Don’t misunderstand me; I know God works in HUGE ways! But He also works in the everyday, in the small things that we sometimes miss.
That one person, who God has placed in your life, maybe even someone you will never see again, may need you to pray with them. They might need to hear the Gospel, or encouragement.
We never know what people are going through, but we can always shine His Light into the darkest places.
Think week, make an effort to love every person who God places in your path, whether you’ve known them all your life or had never seen them before.ย  Share stories how you impact those around you!

The Tau Conference 2015

This past weekend, many churches’ youth groups in and around Thomasville came together to worship and grow in a deeper relationship with God at the Tau Conference. Three days where hearts are opened, lives changed, and teenagers grow to love pursuing God. This year’s the theme was “Undefeated”.

20 “Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21ย so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:20-21

We focused on grace, and how, as Christians, it should be the theme of our life’s story. So others can look at our life and know God has shown us grace by the way we extend it. We grew to desire the crazy love for Jesusย that doesn’t care what others think. We saw that each morning that we wake up is another opportunity to extend God’s grace & love. Everyday the cross stares us in the face. We have been given grace; something we most certainly didn’t deserve.

This weekend was truly amazing, and to everyone who made it possible, thank you. You have helped make a lasting impact in the lives of students that may change the world.

Another thing special about this year’s Tau Conference, was having both Derek Minor and Chris August come and worship with us. Their stories encouraged us, and their music led us to a deeper love for God. We were so blessed this weekend, and I know it will have a permanent impact on so many lives. I ask, that you will pray for each student as they go out into their schools, homes, teams; that they will stand firm in their faith and continue to pursue a constant, love relationship with God. <3

We Can’t.

I chose a vague title for this post, but couldn’t find a better way to begin. We can’t.

Every person has a longing for something; that something-that Someone, is God. We have a void in our heart that can not be filled by anything this world has to offer. We can’t be whole without God.

We all are sinners. We may try to do the right thing, give to the poor, and even go to church regularly, but that won’t save us. Good deeds won’t “get us” into heaven. We can’t save our souls.

Even after salvation, we are still broken people. We strive to have faith and believe, but we still fall. We still doubt, and sometimes maybe even stop pursuing God. We can’t make our faith be complete.

But here is the beautiful part: He can.

God created us with that void, knowing only He will ever satisfy us. He can make us whole.

God’s perfect plan was set into motion from the beginning of time. He knew Adam & Eve would eat the forbidden fruit. He knew humanity would fail. But He loves us. God sent His Son to die. Jesus, blameless and without sin, paid the price that would save all nations from eternity separated from God. He can save our souls.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…” We have sin in us, and it is a constant battle to stand firm our faith. But here’s the thing: We can’t create faith within ourselves; it is truly a gift from God. He helps us believe and trust Him. He can make our faith complete.

Isn’t that beautiful? In every way we fail, He reigns. We can’t, but He can. Know that whenever you feel like you can’t make it through, go to the One who can.
