One Word

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow Me.” – Matthew 16:24

2015 has begun, and the resolutions are in full swing! Maybe you’ve heard of the “One Little Word” for the year. It’s where you choose a word that you want to live out in 2015. I’ve done this before, and encourage you to pray about “your word”!

My word for this year is “follow“. I chose this word because of what every Christian is called to do: “take up their cross and follow Me.” To truly follow Jesus, we have to be willing to give up everything for the sake of the Gospel. To be brave as we follow Him and walk on the water. To step out into the unknown, while knowing that He is always with us.

“But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” -Matthew 14:27

Sometimes following Jesus will be scary. There will be times when we may grow fearful and start to sink, but Jesus is right there, holding our hand, guiding us. In Him alone do we find true peace, strength, and hope. God has a plan for 2015, and maybe it doesn’t look like anything we’ve planned. This year, whatever is ahead, know that He is with you. You are never alone. If you would like for me to pray for you, feel free to email me through the “Contact” tab!

Happy New Year!

Blessings, Moriah
